Francesco Bocchini’s work is often inspired by historical events or figures, and by the contradictions of the human being. Starting from found objects and materials, Bocchini creates sculptures and work on paper that are ironic and dramatic at the same time.

His sculptures come to life through a mechanism that – when manually operated - sets the work in motion in a way that is often clumsy and noisy, reminding the viewer that nothing is perfect.

Francesco Bocchini lives and works in Italy. His work has been widely exhibited including solo shows at: Michela Rizzo Gallery, Venice; Mel Gallery Contemporary, Wien; Goethe2 Galerie, Bolzano; L’Affiche Gallery, Milan; and Il Segno Gallery, Rome. His work was also included in the 15th Edition of the Rome Quadrennial and in the show “Partito Preso” at Galleria Nazionale D’Arte Moderna, Rome.
